Performing Arts

Over a quarter of the pupils play at least one musical instrument and many study two. The school offers a wide range of instruments for tuition including violin, trumpet, piano, voice, guitar and drums. Each year pupils take music examinations including Associated Board, Trinity College and the Trinity Rock School and many achieve Merit or Distinction. Many are successful in local festivals. Box Hill School also holds an annual Arts festival, which gives musically minded students a chance to perform, alongside art exhibitions and drama workshops.

Box Hill School has a choir, wind ensemble, string ensemble, numerous rock/pop bands and other small ensembles. Our school choir most recently toured Venice and Verona, singing at the Basilica of St Mark's and the Roman amphitheatre in Verona.

Our forthcoming school play is Bugsy Malone, which is currently in rehearsals.

Speech and Drama lessons are available for all interested pupils and are taught on a one to one basis by Mrs Caroline Lowe. There are two exam sessions a year and pupils regularly achieve excellent results.
